Mahler I am using parts of the scores of Mahler symphonies on the canvas with his glorious music used for its intrinsic value plus the visual. it is cut into shapes which relate directly to the colours and movement of the paint. I will put some examples up soon on this site.
Music in paint! for many years I have listened to the music of Gustav Mahler while painting. recently I have painted several series of works depicting particular passages or movements of his symphonies. I have also done some using imagery of the places he composed his music. some of the small ones have pieces of score on the canvas. watch this space for much more info on this!
Spring and Summer My new work will concentrate on various aspects of plants, trees and its inherent space at locations such as Kew and Wisley.
Coasts & seas I aim to have an exhibition comprising current work: acrylics are full of peace and calm, depicting sea, sky and coast, the watercolours showing lakes and reflections with emphasis on light.
