Buy My Paintings
I know myself that no matter how good the photography in a book, or how clear the on line depiction is of a painting, there is absolutely nothing to compare this to seeing it first hand. To look directly at one of my paintings is to experience some of my energy and passion for the subject. I paint places I adore, for example a local lake at Claremont Landscape Garden has been a favourite for years. I think that all the paintings of this glorious place show my deep affection for it. Some landscapes have an air of great energy about them, and this I will put in both the brushwork and the painting generally, maybe with my colour choices.
So to see one of my paintings first hand is to be aware of the texture, the sheen of some methods I use, and the true clarity of colour and tone. Paintings of music often have specific pieces of musical score on the canvas, and to see this combined with the colours of that score, is a unique experience. As my website demonstrates I paint in acrylics, watercolours or mixed media. I no longer paint in oils although there are a few paintings in this medium on the website. My subjects vary from London scenes to the music of Gustav Mahler. Each painting has been undertaken because I absolutely ‘had’ to paint it, and the actual methods of the painting flowed quite naturally. So I would invite anyone who is interested to
contact me
and see the paintings ‘for real’.
For purchasers of my paintings they are generally attracted by either the place I have depicted, or maybe the colours really ‘sing’ to them. Sometimes the pure energyof the canvas just feels really comfortable. To have one of these paintings on your wall, and to look at it every day, can add huge dimensions to the room, or give a general feeling of peace, or pure joy. (which frankly I often experience while I am painting!) It becomes something absolutely essential to daily living, and the colours can really contribute to a room.
So please, don't hesitate to
